Abstract

This work is related both to the research that I coordinate as a historian and director of the Division of Institutional Memory (DIM) of the Library and Information System of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and to the research that I develop in the Post-Doctorate at PPGHIS /UFRJ referring to the reflection on memory disputes within the University about its role and that of its social actors during the civil-military dictatorship. In this event, I will present only a part of this research, focused on the analysis of the trajectory of forty-four professors persecuted and expelled by the civil-military dictatorship at the University with the support of members of the institution who contributed to the vigil and expulsion of professors, students and technical. We are organizing, with the support of the UFRJ Memory and Truth Commission, of which I am also a member, an Oral History collection with interviews with professors and technicians who worked with most of these expelled professors, as well as with relatives of some of these professors, since most have already passed away. In addition, we are organizing a guide to bibliographic sources that are available in the UFRJ Libraries as a way of disseminating the scientific memory of these professors. For all these reasons, we reinforce that this research encourages the dissemination of the university collection, its places of memory, the orientation of new research among students who appropriate these collections as sources and objects and the dissemination of the results of these researches and these historical sources in the DIM's social media.
