Directives aux auteurs

General formatting

• Language of publication: JOSCM publishes only in English, however accepts submissions in English and Portuguese. In case the article is approved for publication, the author(s) is(are) responsible to hiring a professional appointed by FGV/RAE-publications for translation services.

• Length: A maximum of 8,000 words – for the complete text, including title, abstract, keywords, tables, figures and references.

• Font: Time New Roman, size 12.

• Alignment: Justified.

• Line spacing: 1.5.

• Italics: Used for words and/or expressions from a foreign language which are not found in English dictionaries, as well as book titles and periodicals.

• Bold: Used for headings and subheadings.

• Quotation marks: Used for direct citations of up to 40 words.

• Authorship: To preserve anonymity, the identification of the article’s authors is restricted to the registration form in the article submission system. There should be no identification of the author(s) within the article.

• TITLE (E): Upper case + bold + justified. Respect the limit of 80 characters with spaces.

• Term ABSTRACT (E): Upper case + bold. Text with at most 150 words in upper and lower case in a single paragraph.

• Term KEYWORDS (E): Upper case + bold. Respect the limit of five keywords in lower case, always separated by commas.

• Article sections:

Section Heading: Upper and lower case + bold + justified.

First Subheading: Upper and lower case + bold + justified.

Second Subheading: Upper and lower case + bold + gray.

• Paragraphs: The first paragraph of each section should not be indented, the others should be indented 1.25 cm.

• Footnotes and end of text notes: JOSCM does not publish footnotes or endnotes. When relevant, insert the content in the text.

• Acknowledgements: Acknowledgements to financial institutions and the owners of authors’ rights, for reproductions, should be sent in a separate file; after approval, when the article is published, the acknowledgement(s) will be inserted at the end of the article.

TABLES, EXHIBITS, FIGURES AND GRAPHS

Tables, exhibits, figures and graphs must be inserted after the References and in the text is necessary to mention where they are to be inserted. These elements should be submitted in an editable form in black and white. They should not be sent in separate files.

Figures 

The types of figures used by the JOSCM are: graphs, diagrams and maps. We do not publish photographs. See the following example, entitled Figure 1.

EQUATIONS AND HYPOTHESES

Equations

They should be numbered using arabic numerals and right aligned.

Examples:

x² + y² = z²                       (1)

(x² - y²)/2 = z                     (2)

Hypotheses

Should be numbered with arabic numerals and right aligned. The numbering should be preceded by the abbreviation "H".

Example:

H1: Top management leadership has a positive and significant influence on alliances and resources.

JOSCM follows the norms of the American Psychological Association – APA for formatting citations and references. Check them here.

Publishing Ethics

JOSCM is committed to following and disseminating the highest standards of ethical behavior in publishing, in line with international standards proposed by a diverse body of institutions, such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors, the Singapore Statement on Research Integrity, Boas Práticas da Publicação Científica da ANPAD; Código de Boas Práticas Científicas da FAPESP, Relatório da Comissão de Integridade de Pesquisa do CNPq. In order to do so, JOSCM expects all parties involved in the publishing process, namely the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, and the publisher, to agree upon and follow the expected ethical behaviour, as described below:

 Duties of Editors

1. Assure fair play during all the stages of the submission, evaluation and publication processes
2. Guarantee that publication decisions are made based on the contribution and the quality of the methodological procedures
3. Assure confidentiality, integrity, and transparency in the process of submission, and evaluation of papers submitted to the journal
4. Assure the involvement and cooperation of the several parties involved in the submission and evaluation processes
5. Search for and allocate reviewers that follow the ethical guidelines of the journal, and research in the field of knowledge explored in the paper
6. Dedicate effort to meet readers and authors´ needs, enable knowledge creation and constantly improve the journal
7. Attend to issues of disclosure and conflicts of interest

Duties of Reviewers

1. Assure the use of ethical behaviour during the review process.
2. Contribute actively to the editorial decision making process, being objective, offering constructive feedback to authors, and guiding the editor on which papers should remain in the double blind review process
3. Assure confidentiality, integrity, and transparency in the evaluation of papers submitted to the journal
4. Guarantee that information accessed during the review process is not reused without permission
5. Attend to issues of disclosure and conflicts of interest and inform editors of any

Duties of Authors

1. Be honest
2. Guarantee the integrity of the data used in the paper
3. Assure the authenticity and originality of the paper
4. Acknowledge the sources with the correct use of citations and references
5. Assure that the paper has no declaration that might infringe intellectual property, or violate individual, commercial and industrial rights.
6. Avoid practices associated with multiple, redundant, or concurrent Publication
7. Declare possible conflicts of interest and issues associated with disclosure
8. Immediately advise the editor of errors in published work or work accepted for publication
9. Assure that all the authors listed in the paper have contributed to its preparation
10. Obtain consent when dealing with human subjects

Duties of the Publisher (FGV)

1. Assure that the highest ethical standards of publishing are being followed by all the parties involved in the submission, review and publication processes
2. Assure that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenues have no impact or influence on editorial decisions
