Luta operária: trabalhadores (as) da companhia de fiação e tecidos alliança na "greve geral" de 1903"

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the context, the possible conditions for the outbreak of what became known as the 'general strike' of 1903 and the actions of employees of the Alliança Spinning and Weaking Company in this strike. This workers occupied a prominent role in the expansion of the strike among the other textile mills and other important categories for the economy in the Federal District. Using mainly the periodical 'O Paiz' as the source, I try to follow the daily course of the strike and highlight the actions and claim modes of workers of factory Alliança.

O objetivo deste texto é analisar o contexto, as possíveis condições para a eclosão do movimento que ficou conhecido como a “greve geral” de 1903 e a atuação dos (as) trabalhadores (as) da Companhia de Fiação e Tecidos Aliança nessa greve. Os operários desta fábrica ocuparam um papel de destaque na expansão das paralisações entre as demais fábricas têxteis e outras categorias importantes para a economia no Distrito Federal. Utilizando, sobretudo, o periódico “O Paiz” como fonte, procuro acompanhar o decorrer diário da greve e ressaltar as ações e modos de reivindicação dos (as) trabalhadores (as) da fábrica Aliança.
