This article takes stock of Brazil's contribution to the international nuclear order, describing and explaining recent actions taken by the country regarding non-proliferation and disarmament. Drawing on Brazil's past and current nuclear policies, this analystis also puts forward a set of policy recommendations that seek to deepen the contributions to the global efforts made thus far. The underlying assumption of this work is that Brazil should not be satisfied with the role of a 'moralizing spectator', it should try to take the center stage and sponsor new initiativies to improve the internacional non-proliferation and disarmament regime.eng
