Missões militares no exterior: a experiência de quem fica

Abstract

Esta dissertação objetiva abordar e contribuir com o projeto social “Minha Missão”, que é desenvolvido pela Assistência Social na Marinha do Brasil e atua no apoio de familiares e militares durante o período de afastamento do(a) militar de seu núcleo familiar, em decorrência da sua atuação em missões de paz ou missões de longa duração no exterior. A partir da bibliografia estudada e do questionário aplicado junto aos familiares desses militares propõe-se o desenvolvimento de uma cartilha com informações relevantes e dados que forneçam elementos de prevenção e antecipação de possíveis problemas que possam surgir no período de afastamento, assim como a promoção de acesso aos serviços disponíveis na instituição militar e na rede socioassistencial. A produção textual, a partir da análise de autores clássicos, observa as características centrais do ethos militar e busca compreender a estrutura familiar, denominada institucionalmente como “Família Militar”; também contextualiza o projeto social a ser beneficiado pelo produto, destacando as principais demandas dos militares e dos familiares durante as missões, assim como traça um panorama sobre o trabalho do assistente social em uma instituição militar. Ademais, a partir do questionário aplicado foi possível traçar um perfil desses familiares, destacando o papel da mulher na função do cuidado.

This thesis aims to address and to contribute to the social project "My Mission", which is developed by Social Assistance in the Brazilian Navy, and works to support family members and military personnel during the period of removal of the military from its nucleus family, as a result of their role in peace missions or long-term missions abroad. Based on the bibliography studied and the service provided to the families of these soldiers, the development of a booklet with relevant information and data that provide elements of prevention and anticipation of possible problems that arise during the period of leave, as well as the promotion of access to services available in the military institution and in the social assistance network. The textual production, based on the analysis of classical authors, observes as central characteristics of the military ethos and seeks to understand a family structure, institutionally called “Military Family”; it also contextualizes the social project to be benefited by the product, standing out as the main demands of the military and family members during missions, as well as outline an overview of the work of social workers in a military institution. Furthermore, from the formulated questionnaire, it was possible to draw a family profile, highlighting the role of women in the care function.
