De “versão” a “narrativa” no Manual de história oral
Resumo
O artigo procura reforçar o caráter de documento da entrevista de história oral, relacionando-a ao conceito de “narrativa” da teoria literária. O ponto de partida são as mudanças a serem implementadas na 3ª edição do Manual de história oral (publicado pela primeira vez em 1990), em que, no lugar de “versão” para se referir à entrevista, serão usados “entrevista”, “narrativa” ou “relato”, para evitar que, por “versão”, se entenda uma notícia ou história infundada. Como recurso argumentativo, o artigo faz um paralelo com cartas escritas pelo historiador Joel Rufi no dos Santos para seu fi lho, quando esteve preso, na década de 1970. Th e article seeks to enhance that oral history interviews are historical documents, and relates them to the concept of “narrative” in literary theory. Th e starting point is the 3rd revised edition of the Oral History Guide fi rst published in 1990, in which, instead of “version” to refer to the interview, the words “interview”, “narrative” or “account” will be used. Th e intent is to avoid the understanding of “version” as an unfounded account. As an argumentative resource, the article draws a parallel with letters written by the historian Joel Rufi no dos Santos to his son, when Joel Rufi no was in jail during Brazilian military dictatorship.
