Rulers, businessmen, suspicious people, institutions and corruption: the origin of chaos
Conteúdo do artigo principal
Resumo
Through the comparison between the actions and accomplishments of the Baron of Mauá at the time of the Brazilian Empire and some current events, like the links among suspected citizens, politicians and businessmen, this teaching case aims to highlight that institutions, whether formal or informal, have been playing a significant role in society and have, over time, been influenced by several events and people. The case serves as a pedagogical instrument to show, in practice, the applicability of theoretical concepts in disciplines related to Theory of Chaos, entry into new markets, Strategy (Resource-Based View, Industry-Based View, Institutions–Based View) and Governance.
