Brazilian Institute of Economics researchers José Roberto Afonso and Érica Diniz talk to Kalinka Iaquinto about their recent study of the costs of tax breaks, which have been growing rapidly. They explain why tax experts are calling vigorously for more transparency and accountability on tax costs and collections and detail how tax benefits amount to more than the budgets of some ministries.
