The Brazilian Finance Academy (SBFin), established in July 23, 2001, is an association of scholars in the area of finance, involving academics, students and industry professionals. The objective of SBFIN is to encourage the study of finance in the Brazil, as well as to develop and disseminate the knowledge of theories and techniques that contribute to raise the quality of teaching, research and practical application in financial management and investments.
More specifically, the objectives of SBFIN include:
1. Organization of annual meetings where research papers in finance are presented and discussed by Brazilian and foreign researchers and professionals.
2. Disseminate relevant knowledge and information to scholars in the area of finance.
3. SBFIN has a Board of Directors composed of seven members elected among its members of which one will be the President, another the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and two directors of publications.
