Certificações e gestão de sustentabilidade em usina de cana-de-açúcar

Abstract

Diante das pressões sociais pela diminuição dos altos índices de degradação ambiental, novos conceitos ganharam força e, assim, novas tendências surgiram no mundo contemporâneo dos negócios – entre elas a da sustentabilidade. Nesta perspectiva, dada à realidade da economia brasileira relativamente ao número de empresas certificadas, considerando a evolução da certificação em nível mundial e, a importância do setor sucroenergético no agronegócio brasileiro, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo identificar a importância das certificações da Usina Alta Mogiana, tendo por base a ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BONSUCRO, CRÉDITO DE CARBONO, OHSAS 18001 e FSSC 22000, que são esquemas adotados. Foi aplicado um questionário com intuito de capturar a percepção dos gestores sobre a influência e impacto que estes seis certificados causaram, procurando identificar quais os principais aspectos na adoção de cada certificação. A análise do questionário nos permitiu extrair conclusões referentes à motivação na busca de certificações, impactos no mercado e na gestão da usina, resultados mensuráveis e aspectos negativos.

Faced with the social pressures by reducing the high rates of environmental degradation, new concepts have gained strength and, thus, new trends emerged in the contemporary world of business - including the sustainability. In this perspective, given the reality of the Brazilian economy regarding the number of certified companies, considering the development of the certification worldwide, and the importance of the sugarcane industry in Brazilian agribusiness, this present study aimed to identify the importance of certifications of Alta Mogiana Plant, based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BONSUCRO, CARBON CREDIT, OHSAS 18001 and FSSC 22000, schemes that are adopted. A questionnaire was applied aiming to capture the perceptions of managers about the influence and impact that caused these six certificates, trying to identify what the main issues in the adoption of each certification. Analysis of the questionnaire allowed us to draw conclusions concerning the motivation in seeking certification, market impacts and management of the Plant measurable results and negative aspects.
