The use of feature films in management education received considerable attention among professors and researchers. Several papers and books argue for the pedagogical use of feature films as a complement to text-books, case studies and other resources. However, the literature seems to be at the same time conservative and conformist: in general, scholarly texts recommend the use of mainstream North-American movies to illustrate mainstream management concepts. This work starts with the discussions about management education and deals with the question of use of feature films after a critical perspective at both pedagogy and contents. For the purpose of illustration, it is presented and analyzed the use of two classic films: Citizen Kane, from Orson Welles, and Land in Anguish, from Glauber Rocha. The article also deals with key questions about the use of feature films and brings recommendations for those interested in improving the use of this media in the classroom.
