Resumo

The goal of this work is to investigate the content of the courses in Professional Communication. The research takes into account the courses offered at top ranked undergraduate and graduate business administration programs in Brazil. The result of this investigation is compared to the content of comparable courses offered in the undergraduate and MBA courses in top ranked business administration programs in the USA, which are generally named Business Communication or Management Communication. In parallel, the work analyses the content of Brazilian and North-American books regarding Professional Communication. As a result, the work proposes topics that might be developed by Brazilian schools to disseminate this discipline.
