A energia renovável na matriz energética brasileira
Abstract
The share of renewable energy in the Brazilian Energy Matrix has Always been ate high level. This approach makes Brazil in particular case in the world for a country with its economic figures, like GDP per capita and economic structure. This level of renewable energy in energy matrix caused by an option of the government energy policy in the 50’s would bring to Brazil comparative advantages and benefits in the run. This single position has caused the development of this work, whose main objective is to evaluate the renewable energy in the Brazilian energy matrix since 1940, comparing in with those of other countries. Also to understand the influence of the renewable energy we developed a regression model between annual energy demand and GDP. The results obtained with the use of this model allowed us to map the impacts of this policy and have a good comprehension of the causality between those variables. Also the calculation of energy-GDP elasticity broth some important conclusion, like the definition of certain parameters to estimate the investment in the energy sector in the long run. No Brasil, a participação das fontes renováveis na matriz energética sempre foi muito alta. Este arranjo torna o Brasil um caso único, quando comparado com outros países de porte econômico e renda média equivalentes às suas e permite prever que esta opção de planejamento energético, iniciada na década de 50, trará vantagens comparativas que poderão vir a beneficiá-lo no longo prazo. Esta constatação motivou a elaboração deste trabalho, cujo objetivo principal é avaliar a evolução da energia renovável na matriz energética brasileira desde 1940, comparando-a com a de outros países. Uma das ferramentas utilizadas para entender a influência da energia renovável na matriz energética brasileira foi a elaboração de um modelo de regressão entre a demanda anual de energia e o Produto Interno Bruto neste período. Os resultados obtidos permitiram mapear estes impactos, bem como determinar a relação de causalidade entre as variáveis de interesse. Como subproduto desta análise, calculou-se a elasticidade energia - PIB, que trouxe algumas conclusões interessantes e importantes para a definição dos parâmetros com vistas a subsidiar as previsões de investimento de longo prazo no setor elétrico.
