Acordos firmados e estratégias debatidas: a troca de telegramas entre os interventores do norte e o governo provisório durante a guerra de 1932

Abstract

The article analyzes the exchange of telegrams between interventors from the North and the Provisional Government during the War of 1932, renowned as the 'Constitutionalist Revolution'. Initially, I intend to investigate the military and political trajectory of these interventors, their relation with the movement of 1930 which lead Getúlio Vargas to power, and their nominations to interventions from the North. Afterwards, I analyze, according to the telegrams, how they positioned towards the war, the formation of troops sent to the front and the dialogues with the president of the Republic, as well as strategies adopted by these leaders to defend the Provisional Government.

O artigo analisa a troca de telegramas entre os interventores do Norte e o Governo Provisório durante a Guerra de 1932, mais conhecida como 'Revolução Constitucionalista'. Inicialmente, busco investigar a trajetória política e militar desses interventores, as suas relações com o movimento de 1930 que levou Getúlio Vargas ao poder, e as suas nomeações nas Interventorias nortistas. Em seguida, analiso, a partir dos telegramas, como eles se posicionaram diante da guerra, a formação de tropas enviadas para a luta e os diálogos com o presidente da República, assim como as estratégias adotas por esses líderes para defender o Governo Provisório.
